Shreddies flatulence filtering garments are manufactured with love in the UK using the best materials to ensure the highest standards.

How do they work?

Shreddies flatulence filtering garments feature a ‘Zorflex’ activated carbon back panel that absorbs all flatulence odours. Due to its highly porous nature, the odour vapours become trapped and neutralised by the cloth, which is then reactivated by simply washing the garment. Previous research published in The American Journal of Gastroenterology found activated carbon underwear to be the most effective method of removing flatulence odours. The garments have gone through rigorous testing, and findings from research by De Montfort University were presented at the 86th Textile Institute World Conference; the fabric “was found to remove sulphide and ethyl mercaptan so effectively that it can filter odours 200 times the strength of the average flatus emission." The fabric remains effective for the life of the garment (2 - 3 years) providing the care instructions are followed correctly. The Shreddies motto is ‘Fart with confidence’ and our garments ensure just that.

Who are Shreddies For?

Shreddies can be worn by anyone but they offer the perfect solution to treat flatulence issues caused by IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), Gastritis, Crohn’s disease, Dyspepsia and Colitis as well as food intolerance's and many other bowel and digestive disorders. Anybody that suffers from excessive flatulence will know of the social issues that it can cause and Shreddies not only improves the physical symptoms but also helps reduce the anxiety associated with this condition.

In many cases, simply not having to worry about flatulence can help improve a persons condition. Anxiety can create chemical changes in your body which can affect your digestive system, exacerbating a person’s condition. The average person passes wind 14 times per day so whether you’re a sufferer of a digestive disorder or just have flatulence, Shreddies can help. Our garments are discreet, offering the wearer added assurance that nobody will be able to tell you are wearing anything other than regular clothing.

GETTING THE BEST
OUT OF YOUR SHREDDIES

Shreddies are not magic, they work for a reason. If flatulence passes through the carbon filter all odour will be removed. How you stand or sit and how you pass flatulence all need consideration to get the most out of your Shreddies. Ensure there are no gaps around the waistband or leg openings and the fit is taut against the skin.

To avoid flatulence escaping around the filter we recommend that you stand with your legs together and try to let your wind out slowly. When sitting, keep your knees together so that flatulence escapes through the carbon panel. If your Shreddies fit correctly and you ensure that your flatulence passes through the carbon panel all odour will be removed.
